An isolated series of warm-spring seeps in a dry desert setting. Oatman Warm Springs are currently little more than a series of seeps in a dramatic desert landscape. Located at the base of a spectacular mountain range, the springs are a small oasis in a very dry area. The springs feed a small meadow consisting of grass, small trees, and thick bushes. The oasis formed by the springs is currently fenced off to prevent damage from cattle and burros. The trip to Oatman Warm Springs is not the trip to make if you are looking for a quick soak. The trip is long, and there is little chance of a bath. There is the potential that the spring may be harnessed to provide warm-water soaking. The area is replete with evidence of past human activity. It is clear that this water source was used by Native Americans prehistorically, and more recently by Whites. Located adjacent to a rich mining district, the area has been prospected heavily for more than 150 years. The burros you may come across on your trip to Oatman Warm Springs are the descendants of those brought in by prospectors and turned loose when no longer needed.
